The University of Newcastle's main campus at Callaghan is only 12 kilometres north west of the the heart of Newcastle on a 140-hectare site of natural bushland. It has a reputation for being one of the most naturally beautiful campuses in Australia. Callaghan is our original campus, a suburb on its own and the place where the majority of our students are based.
Entrances are located on University Drive, Callaghan.
Callaghan is well serviced by both bus and train (Warabrook station) services and has excellent access to the F3 Freeway.
